Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs held celebrations on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of granting the institution the status of a university. The event was attended by Heads, lecturers, employees, cadets and representatives of Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration. Andrii KAVUNETS, Deputy Director of RMA, congratulated the university and presented awards to those who showed themselves in service, education and work. In his address, he emphasized: «Dear officers and cadets! It is a great honor for me to address you on this important day. In difficult times, KhNUIA not only kept its positions –, it strengthened them. Here they educate people who become the shield of the state, form character, endurance and professionalism. Thank you to the lecturers for the high standards of work and to the cadets – for their responsibility and willingness to serve the state and society».
Valerii SOKURENKO, Rector of the university, Police General of the Third Rank, emphasized the importance of the university in the system of the MIA and thanked the team for its dedication to the common cause. He emphasized that in three decades KhNUIA built a strong professional school, from which generals, heads of units, scientists and specialists, known for their professionalism and principles, came out.
Separately, Rector mentioned with respect and gratitude all previous rectors and vice-rectors, as well as directors of the Educational and Research Institutes, who in different years made a significant contribution to the development of the university, formed its traditions, strengthened the scientific and educational base.
«31 years – are years of continuous development, finding solutions and improvement, – noted the Rector. – We have come a long way and continue to move forward. Even in the conditions of redeployment, we do not stop the educational and scientific process, strengthen the material and technical base and build the future of the university despite all the challenges. I congratulate everyone who works and studies at our institution, our veterans and graduates. I wish good health, strength and confident progress for the development of the university and a safe future of Ukraine».
During the celebrations, the best employees and students of education were awarded certificates of honor of the Regional Military Administration and the Regional Council, departmental incentive awards of the National Police of Ukraine, thanks of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Vinnytsia region, thanks of the Academic Council of the KhNUIA, as well as thanks of Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council. University cadets were awarded regular special ranks of the junior police force, in particular the rank of «police corporal», and were solemnly presented with shoulder straps.
The event ended with the performance of the drummers' unit and the performance of vocal and choreographic compositions, which emphasized the significance of the event and the contribution of the university community to the training of future law enforcement officers of Ukraine.
