Police officers have been trained in general legal disciplines, pre-medical, tactical and special, firearms training in the specialization "Community Police Officer" at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs for 2.5 months. This is the next graduation of specialists trained by the University according to the new world model. The graduates will serve in the territorial communities of ten regions of Ukraine - Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi and Cherkasy.
The Head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, Serhii Borzov congratulated the graduates of the courses. He noted that being a community police officer is a big responsibility: "Your authority is the indicator of trust to the police. Protect your reputation and be honest. Nowadays there is a war in Ukraine, which forces everyone to work harder and better. Keep loyalty to the Oath, serve for the people of Ukraine!".
The Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine, Oleksandr Fatsevych, emphasized that the main purpose of the police is crime prevention: "The community police officers have the highest level of the citizens' trust. You must exemplary perform your duties. You should remember that you were selected among many candidates and trained to work for the community's safety."
Ivan Ishchenko, the Head of the MDNP in Vinnytsia Region, emphasized that, despite the difficult times, "the police is reforming, moving forward, and we must do everything to make people in territorial communities feel protected."
Maiia Breslavska, the Head of the Department for Interaction with Communities of the Department of Preventive Activities of the NPU, expressed gratitude to the management, lecturers and employees of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, who provided the educational process and did everything for police officers to receive the necessary knowledge.
The importance of community police officers’ training was emphasized by the Rector of the University Valerii Sokurenko: "You have made a lot of efforts to acquire knowledge and skills which you will use while serving for Ukraine and our citizens. Serve and work hard! Glory to Ukraine!".
Training of community police officers was carried out with the support of the management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police of Ukraine, the U.S. Embassy and IСITAP.
