Formation of a barrier-free environment: meetings with KhNUIA students
НАВС

Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs is holding events for the National Barrier-Free Week. This time, employees of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Work held informational and educational meetings for cadets and students of educational and scientific institutes, Sumy branch and Kremenchuk Flight College.

During the conversation, the participants discussed what barrier-free means in modern society, why it is important to support people with disabilities, war veterans and everyone who needs attention, understanding and equal opportunities. Special attention was paid to the formation of a culture of respect, tolerance and responsible attitude towards each other.

Oleksandr Hovorukha, a combat participant, war veteran and assistant to the rector for work with veterans, joined the events. He shared his own experience and drew the attention of young people to the importance of humanity and mutual support.

“Barrier-free is not only about the accessibility of space. It's about the attitude towards people, the willingness to support, listen and help. Every person should feel respected, have the opportunity to realize themselves and be a full-fledged part of society,” emphasized Oleksandr Hovorukha.

The events held were another step towards creating an atmosphere of openness, mutual understanding and social cohesion in the university environment.
