The topic of the “Barrier-free driving school” activity was discussed during a meeting with the management and specialists in supporting war veterans and demobilized veterans of the “Veteran PRO” military training center of Kamianets-Podilskyi district council. The purpose of the event is to establish cooperation in the field of rehabilitation and social adaptation of defenders through professional training and acquisition of new skills.

Head of the automotive training department of the barrier-free driving school of KhNUIA Oleksandr MARUNCHAK spoke about the features of the educational process and training conditions for representatives of the target category. Classes are organized taking into account the physical and psychological characteristics of students using an individual approach. Specially equipped cars adapted for people with musculoskeletal disorders are used for training. A flexible schedule of classes and constant support from specialists are also provided.

The participants paid special attention to the issues of social adaptation of veterans, the importance of vocational training in returning to active life and employment. The parties agreed on further cooperation, in particular on informing veterans about the possibility of free training through reimbursement from the state budget and forming groups for taking courses.
