A training seminar on international humanitarian law was held in Vinnytsia, organized by experts of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine. Its participants were representatives of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and the MDNP in Vinnytsia region, who deepened their knowledge of the protection of the civilian population in armed conflicts, interaction with humanitarian organizations and the application of international humanitarian law.

Тhe purpose of the event was to familiarize participants with the activities of the ICRC, its mandate and role in providing humanitarian assistance, as well as the features of the organization's cooperation with law enforcement agencies and security forces.

During the seminar, ICRC experts familiarized participants with the mandate and main areas of activity of the organization in Ukraine, the features of interaction with law enforcement agencies and security forces, issues of protecting the civilian population, supporting families of the deceased and missing, as well as the activities of the forensic medical direction. Particular attention was paid to the current challenges of international humanitarian law and the impact of new technologies on the conduct of hostilities.

The practical part of the event was held in an interactive format. Working in small groups allowed participants to discuss current issues and practice the application of international humanitarian law when interacting with ICRC units.
