KhNUIA joined the celebration of memorable dates
НАВС

At all locations of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, solemn events dedicated to the Day of the State Emblem of Ukraine and the Day of Remembrance of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred were held. They were attended by the First Vice-Rector of the University Viktor Vasylenko, Vice-Rectors, Directors of the Educational and Research Institutes, employees, cadets and students.

Addressing those present, Viktor Vasylenko reminded that on February 19, 1992, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the State Emblem of independent Ukraine –, a symbol that has united Ukrainians for centuries, represents the succession of generations, the desire for statehood, unity and independence. Today, the State Emblem of Ukraine – is a sign of invincibility that flies on the flags and is engraved on the weapons of our defenders.

On this day, the university community also honored the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred – participants of the Revolution of Dignity, who in February 2014 gave their lives for freedom and the European future of Ukraine. The bloodiest events took place on February 18-20 in Kyiv, when unarmed people were shot during peaceful protests. Their feat became a symbol of the struggle of Ukrainians for rights, dignity and independence.

The First Vice-Rector emphasized that today's generation should be worthy of the memory of fallen Heroes and those who are currently defending the state at the front: to study conscientiously, to serve honestly, to stand guard over the rights and freedoms of citizens, to remain loyal patriots and to always be ready to defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The memory of Heroes and respect for state symbols – is not only a tribute to history, but also a responsibility for the future of the country.
