
A binary lesson on the topic “Concepts and principles of tactical medicine” for cadets of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs was conducted by representatives of the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medicine of National Pirogov Memorial Medical University - Head of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Mykola Matviichuk and senior lecturers of the same department Viktoriia Anhelska and Natalia Humeniuk.

The students were introduced to the principles of providing emergency care to the wounded according to the recommendations of the TCCC Committee, methods of providing care in the area under fire (CUF) and in the area of indirect threat (TFC). The cadets practiced methods of stopping critical bleeding using tourniquets for limbs, tamponade and pressure bandages. These skills are critically important for effective assistance in combat conditions, where every minute matters for saving lives.

The practical session was held with the participation of employees of the Department of Tactical and Special Training of KhNUIA - Head of the Department Mykola Borovyk and Senior Lecturer Oleksandr Skliar.
