KhNUIA: Ukrainian police officers adopt Scandinavian experience
НАВС

Representatives of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs became participants in a large-scale training "Operational Communication", which was organized by the Norwegian Police University College under the Erasmus+ KA171 academic mobility program. Teachers and cadets from five countries gathered at one site: Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Germany and Ukraine. The delegation of KhNUIA is represented by cadets Anna Dzhus and Milena Tsvietkova, led by the Head of the International Cooperation Department Tetiana Matiushkova.

Within the framework of the intensive course, participants work on modern approaches to operational communication, crisis communication, interaction with the population and negotiations in conflict situations.

The training is built on a practical approach: students work in multinational teams, simulate real service situations, undergo psychological training and practice conflict de-escalation skills in real time.

During the official visit, Tetiana Matiushkova held meetings with the leadership of the Norwegian Police University College - Head Nina Skarpenes and Erasmus+ program coordinator Suzanne Bansel. A kind of sign of quality and gratitude for the expansion of international ties and the development of academic exchanges were the thanks from the Academic Council of KhNUIA, which Tetiana Matiushkova solemnly handed over to the European partners on behalf of the Rector Valerii Sokurenko.

For the university, this event became another step towards the integration of Ukrainian police education into the European space. The university's teachers plan to implement the gained experience into the training program for future Ukrainian law enforcement officers.
