Integrated seminar for Officers of Sumy Region Police Department (KhNUIA)
Sumy Region Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Sumy Region had an integrated seminar "Linguistic competence in police officer professional communication" presented by Professor of the Department of Humanities of Sumy Branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs Valentyna Vasylenko and Senior Inspector on Special Assignments of the Department of Human Rights of the National Police of Ukraine Yevhenii Yevtieiev.
The officers of the Criminal Police Department, the Investigation Department, Inquiry bodies, Administrative Practice, Recruitment and Staffing participated in the meeting.
At the seminar police officers recollected the basics of business writing and its importance in police officers’ job by means of interactive methods and the
presentation. The speakers outlined provisions for the use of official business style in oral communication and in functional documents, they spoke in detail about
linguistic and lexical features used in criminal procedure and official documents.
Attention was focused on changes and additions in new Ukrainian spelling, the main differences and innovations were demonstrated in retrospect
At the seminar the participants discussed important issues, got answers to their questions and useful practical recommendations from experienced specialist.
