The WAKO Khmelnytskyi Region Open Kickboxing Cup, dedicated to the memory of Ukrainian defender Serhii Podolian, took place in Kamianets-Podilskyi. Representatives of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs team participated in the competition, demonstrating a high level of training and winning four gold, eight silver, and five bronze medals.

The tournament winners included cadets Roman Savchuk (full contact, up to 63.5 kg), Roman Pshenychnyi (full contact, up to 81 kg), and Levon Hryhorian (low kick, up to 57 kg), as well as student Oleksii Oliinyk (low kick, up to 63.5 kg).

Silver medals were won by cadets Mykyta Mashukov (full contact, up to 81 kg), Ivan Hnatiuk (full contact, up to 63.5 kg), Bohdan Shendra (low kick, up to 75 kg), Denys Pshenychnyi (low kick, up to 75 kg), Lev Fesenko (low kick, up to 67 kg), Pavlo Pavlusyk (low kick, up to 63.5 kg), Yaroslav Bohdar (low kick, up to 71 kg), and Artem Dovhaliuk (low kick, up to 86 kg). 

Cadets Yevhenii Bazdyriev and Maksym Kachalaba (low kick, under 67 kg), Tymur Haryaha (full contact, under 60 kg), as well as cadets Arsenii Kuz and Yehor Huba (low kick, under 81 kg), won bronze medals.

The results demonstrated the athletic prowess of the university’s representatives and their dedication to training. Balancing competition preparation with academic studies is challenging; however, KhNUIA cadets manage to find the time for both, continuing to develop in both their professional and athletic pursuits.

Participating in such competitions helps young athletes gain competitive experience, refine their techniques, and test their skills against strong opponents. Each award is the result of consistent training, discipline, and daily self-improvement.
