The training facility of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs in Kamianets-Podilskyi hosted a working meeting between representatives of the university and the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine).

During the visit, mission representatives familiarized themselves with the conditions under which future law enforcement officers are currently being trained. The delegation was given a tour of the training base, during which they were shown the training facilities, logistical support, and infrastructure.

This firsthand look at the base allowed the partners to identify specific areas for its further development. Particular attention was paid to opportunities for improving the training of cybersecurity specialists.

“We would like to establish a cybersecurity laboratory at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, which will provide an additional opportunity for the practical training of specialists and the development of this field,” said Dragoș Gabriel Dima, a representative of the EUAM Ukraine.

During the meeting, the participants also discussed the results of a specialized two-day training course titled “Cybersecurity: Ensuring Cyber Resilience Through Cross-Border Preparedness, Incident Response, and Recovery in Law Enforcement Agencies,” which EUAM experts conducted for the academic and teaching staff of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.

“We thank our partners for their support and attention to the university’s development. We are open to further cooperation, conducting joint training sessions, developing our educational infrastructure, and implementing modern approaches to training future law enforcement officers,” said Mykola Marchuk, Director of the ERI No. 4.

Separately, the parties outlined further steps for cooperation, particularly regarding the development of educational infrastructure, strengthening cyber resilience, and improving the practical training of cadets and students.
