Third-year cadet of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs Tymur Kyryia has dreamed since childhood of devoting his life to police service. Born in Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region, he was interested in law enforcement activities from an early age and consciously chose the path of serving the law.

«For me, the police – is not just a profession, but an opportunity to defend my state, take care of citizens and fight for justice in society,» Timur notes.

He considers the profession of an investigator promising, as it makes it possible not only to investigate crimes, but also to stand up for the protection of human rights and freedoms. After graduating from the State Boarding Gymnasium with enhanced physical training «Cadet Corps» in 2023, Timur entered Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.

From the first days of his studies, he actively immersed himself in university life: he became a member of the scientific circles of the Department of Theory and History of the State and Law, the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure, the Department of Criminal Procedure and the Organization of Pre-trial Investigation. In addition, he joined the work of the branch of the Legal Clinic in Kamianets-Podilskyi.

«So I can not easily study law, but see how it works for people in real life situations», – shares the cadet.

His perseverance and discipline have already brought significant results. Timur is a laureate and winner of the competition of scientific works for the Foundation Day of KhNUIA in 2023, 2024 and 2025; laureate of the competition «Young person of the year – 2025» in the nomination «Scientific activity». As part of the KhNUIA team, he also won the All-Ukrainian Hans Gross Investigative Competition (2025) and the All-Ukrainian Legal VIP brain-ring.

Studying for Timur – is only part of his life. He takes an active part in scientific conferences and meetings, attends psychological trainings and sports competitions, takes online courses on the Prometheus, EdEra and Lifeline Ukraine platforms. The cooperation of the Kamianets-Podilskyi RPD of the MDNP in Khmelnytskyi region and KhNUIA makes it possible to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice.

«Theory without practice has no value, just like practice without thorough knowledge», – he is convinced.

At this stage, Timur's life credo – to combine studying, practical experience and science to become a professional, responsible investigator in the future. His example convincingly proves that purposefulness, an active life position and sincere motivation form a specialist ready to serve society and the law.
