Round table at KhNUIA: National Security of Ukraine in Martial Law

The Department of Theory and History of State and Law of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs held a round table "National Security of Ukraine: Challenges and Realities of Today" with the participation of scientists, representatives of international organizations, employees of the National Police of Ukraine and higher education students. Its goal is to discuss current challenges, threats and prospects for strengthening the national security of Ukraine in martial law.

The participants were addressed by the First Vice-Rector of the University, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor Viktor Vasylenko, who emphasized the importance of combining scientific approaches and practical experience in ensuring the security of the state.

The event was moderated by: Director of the Educational and Research Institute No. 4, Doctor of Law, Professor Mykola Marchuk and Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Ihor Lohvynenko.

Leading scientists and practitioners joined the work of the round table. Academician of the National Academy of Nationalities of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor Oleksandr Bandurka revealed the content and main elements of national security in martial law, emphasizing the need to improve state security policy.

Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, Doctor of Law, Professor Kateryna Levchenko emphasized the importance of expanding women's participation in international peacekeeping processes in the context of implementing the global agenda "Women. Peace. Security".

The participants also considered the issue of the principle of territorial integrity of Ukraine, the role of international organizations in strengthening state security, mine safety, the psychological resilience of the nation, the work of police officers in front-line and de-occupied territories, the heroism of law enforcement officers on the front line, the qualification of war crimes, as well as the approaches of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to the interpretation of the concept of "national security".
