The competition was held in Budapest (Hungary) from August 26 to 30 and brought together 2,986 participants from 47 countries.

The highest result among the representatives of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs was demonstrated by the 2nd year cadet of the ERI No. 4, a police private Daniel Tymchuk. In the weight category over 91 kg among senior juniors, he won first place in the K-1 section and became the owner of the World Cup.

“For me, this victory is the result of hard daily work, training and support of people who help me develop. I am sincerely grateful to the sports club “PRIDE Martial Arts Club” and my coaches for their work, professional support and belief in me. I also thank the leadership of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs for the opportunity to train, improve my sports skills and participate in competitions of such a high level. It is a great honor for me to represent Ukraine on the international sports arena. I perceive this victory as the result of the joint work of everyone who helps me move forward,” said Daniel Tymchuk.

Daniel Tymchuk dedicated his victory at the World Cup to the memory of the Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine in kickboxing WAKO, world champion and two-time winner of the World Cup Roman Holovatyuk, who died while performing a combat mission.

A worthy result was also demonstrated by the 4th year cadet of the ERI No. 1, police corporal Roman Pshenychnyi. In the weight category up to 81 kg among adults, he took fifth place in the “full-contact” section and was among the strongest athletes of the tournament in his category. Roman Pshenychnyi is the winner of the 2023 World Cup, which was also held in Budapest.

Participation in the World Cup gave the cadets the opportunity to test their level of training in international competition and gain valuable competitive experience.
