The Cadet and Student Parliament of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, together with the NGO “Vinnytsia Down Syndrome”, held the annual action “LOTS OF SOCKS”, dedicated to the World Day of People with Down Syndrome. The essence of the action is that everyone who supports and expresses tolerance for people with Down syndrome wears bright, odd-numbered socks as a symbol of an extra chromosome.
The cadets visited the development center for children with special mental needs “Sonechko”. This is a place where children with Down syndrome are helped to effectively socialize and interact with the world around them. They played entertaining games with the center’s students and presented sets for creativity that will help children spend their free time more brightly and usefully.
University representatives have been cooperating with the center for several years, so the boys and girls are happy to meet their friends. Children are extremely sincere and loving, and need special attention and care. This meeting once again brought them a lot of positive emotions, smiles, light and goodness into their everyday lives.
