Second-year cadets of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs of the ERI No. 2 Nazar TRYSHMAK and Pavlo YATSENKO demonstrated endurance, determination and professional training, helping to detain a dangerous offender.

The incident took place in Vinnytsia. During their lunch break, on their way to the dining room, the boys suddenly heard a loud scream from a fast-food restaurant. An excited man ran out, who, seeing the cadets, shouted: "Help!" Without wasting a second, Nazar and Pavlo went inside. There they saw a sudden and hazardous situation: a man with signs of aggression on the floor, a knife next to him, and another visitor tried to restrain the offender on his own. The cadets instantly assessed the risks and acted clearly, coherently and confidently. Thanks to their knowledge of special physical training, the boys used the technique of stopping illegal actions, which made it possible to quickly neutralize the attacker and keep him until the police arrived. As Pavlo YATSENKO noted later: "We immediately realized that we need to act quickly and decisively. You can't delay. The main thing is to protect people nearby. We did what we are taught in lessons: we acted calmly, clearly and confidently." Thanks to the professionalism of the cadets, their courage and ability to act under pressure, it was possible to prevent possible serious consequences and ensure the safety of nearby visitors. Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs educates just such cadets – responsible, caring, ready to help at any time.
