The events on the occasion of the oath-taking of the first-year police officer were held at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. These are talented young people from all regions of Ukraine, including graduates of lyceums with enhanced military and physical training, excellent students, prize-winners of Olympiads, winners of various sports competitions, candidates for masters of sports. Those present honored the patriotism, loyalty and heroism of those who laid down their lives for the freedom, unity and independence of Ukraine with a minute of silence. Flowers were laid at the monuments to the fallen heroes.
The solemn oath of the National Police of Ukraine employee was taken. The young men and women swore to serve the Ukrainian people faithfully, to abide by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, to implement them, to protect and safeguard the rights and freedoms of man and the state. Each first-year student received a police officer’s badge with a personal number.
On behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police, the First Deputy Head of the National Police – Head of the Main Investigation Department Maksym TSUTSKIRIDZE congratulated the cadets: “From today on, you are real police officers with the full range of rights and responsibilities, just like those who serve and fight at the front. You have chosen an honorable and responsible path. Study conscientiously, go in for sports – you have every opportunity. Do not lose hope for a better future and bring Victory closer together!”.jpg)
The Rector of the university, Police General of the Third Rank Valerii SOKURENKO thanked the state leadership, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, and the Heads of regional military administrations for their assistance and support during this difficult time. Addressing the first-year students, he emphasized: “Today is a significant event in the life of the university – you have taken the Police Oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people. I am convinced that you will worthily keep the word given to your parents, senior comrades, to the memory of those who died in the fight against the Russian aggressor, those who fulfill their duties in the fight against crime and do everything to make our Ukraine a democratic, independent, prosperous state. You must be skillful, strong, courageous. Serve in such a way that people respect you and the Lord God protects you! Glory to Ukraine!”
The talented youth of the university created an elevated mood for the guests, cadets, and their parents. There was a performance by the girls-saber dancers and the drummers' unit, as well as the vocal-choreographic compositions "Born Free" and "Let there be peace in the whole world".
