On April 11, 2025, Lviv State University of Internal Affairs will host a roundtable discussion on «Current Issues in Training Specialists for the Units of the National Police of Ukraine.»
Discussion Topics:
1. Professional needs of stakeholders regarding competency development for national police officers to ensure effective performance during martial law:
– Investigative units handling general criminal offenses and economic crimes;
– Operational units combating human trafficking and other general criminal offenses;
– Criminal analysis and cyber police units detecting crimes involving advanced information technologies;
‒ Preventive units ensuring public safety and order, including in de-occupied territories;
‒ Human rights monitoring units ensuring compliance with human rights standards in police activities;
‒ Explosive ordnance disposal units following safety protocols when detecting explosive devices;
‒ Main inspection units ensuring discipline and legality within law enforcement agencies;
‒ Patrol police units countering crime.
2. Professional-psychological training and military-patriotic education of police officers, focusing on service adaptation during martial law and enhancing stress resilience.
3. Involvement of civil society organizations in training specialists for the National Police of Ukraine.
