Cadets from the Andrii Pryimachenko Ivano-Frankivsk Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs visited Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. A packed schedule was arranged for the guests, allowing them not only to learn more about the university and the training of future police officers but also to see specific aspects of the profession firsthand.
During the meeting, the lyceum cadets were briefed on the specifics of studying at KhNUIA, the work of the university's educational and research institutes, available specializations, and opportunities for professional development. The program included visits to various locations where cadets acquire theoretical knowledge and hone practical skills. The young visitors were also introduced to the "BRAMA" project—a nationwide online platform and volunteer initiative launched with the support of the Cyber Police of Ukraine. Participants learned how the project helps counter the spread of hostile propaganda, harmful content, and information threats, and were invited to join the official "BRAMA" Telegram channel.
Particular interest was shown in the areas dedicated to actual police work. The lyceum cadets learned about the roles of investigators and inquiry officers and the process of investigating criminal offenses; they also viewed the professional gear and special equipment used by police officers on duty.
Specialists also demonstrated safety protocols for handling explosive objects. The guests were taught how to recognize a potentially dangerous item, why it must never be touched or moved, and the correct course of action if such an object is discovered. Marksmanship training was also part of the visit.
The lyceum students were shown the university’s two shooting ranges: a traditional one and an interactive one. In the latter, thanks to modern technology, cadets can practice the skills essential for their future professional careers.
During the tour, the guests also saw how the university’s dining facilities are organized, spoke with representatives of KhNUIA, and received answers to questions about admission, studies, practical training, and future police service. They showed interest in everything—from the specifics of the educational process to opportunities for professional development.
"I really enjoyed my time at KhNUIA. I was most interested in the practical training areas, as here you can not only hear about the police profession but also see how things actually work. It was fascinating to learn about the work of investigators and inquiry officers, and to see the equipment, the shooting range, and the interactive capabilities. This trip left me with many positive impressions and an even stronger desire to learn more about the profession," shared lyceum student Kamilla Uhryn.
The prospective students also took part in a psychological training session. This gave them the opportunity to meet representatives of the university’s psychological service, identify their professional interests, improve their communication and teamwork skills, and try out stress-relief techniques designed to reduce emotional tension, restore inner resources, and develop self-regulation skills.
To conclude the visit, the lyceum students took a walk through the historic center of Kamianets-Podilskyi and explored the city's architectural and historical landmarks. Thus, the professional introduction to KhNUIA was complemented by an informative tour and new impressions.
