A new start behind the wheel: the story of war veteran Andrii Romaniuk
НАВС

Andrii Romaniuk, a graduate of the barrier-free driving school of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, successfully passed his practical exam and received his first driving license at the MIA service center in Kamianets-Podilskyi. For him, this was an important step towards independence and confidence in the future.у.

Andrii served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine for almost ten years. A serious injury on the front line and the loss of his left leg in 2023 were a serious challenge, but they did not shake his determination to live an active life and remain independent.

Training at the barrier-free driving school of KhNUIA helped him learn to drive a car with his individual needs in mind. The school has created the right conditions for veterans and people with disabilities: specially equipped cars, professional instructors, attentive care, and support at every stage.

“Studying at the barrier-free driving school gave me not only driving skills, but also self-confidence. I felt again that I could confidently control my own life,” says Andrii. He proved that no circumstances can be an obstacle to development.

His story is an example of how support and accessible education help veterans regain their independence and open up new opportunities.
