Representatives of the Career Guidance Department of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs (KhNUIA) held a series of meetings with students in the Volyn region who are interested in joining the police and pursuing a professional career in law enforcement.

One of the venues was Lutsk Lyceum No. 28 with Enhanced Physical Training, administered by Lutsk City Council. In cooperation with specialists from the Volyn Scientific Research Forensic Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, University representatives conducted a practical fingerprinting workshop for the students. The experts demonstrated how specialised powders and brushes are used to detect and lift fingerprints from various surfaces. The students also had an opportunity to practise collecting fingerprints themselves.

Graduating students of the Volyn Regional Lyceum with Enhanced Military and Physical Training named after the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, the Kniahynyn Lyceum of the Volyn Regional Council, and Lutsk Lyceums No. 5 and No. 9 were also provided with information about the 2027 admission campaign. The students learned about the University’s educational and research institutes, academic programmes, study conditions, social benefits, campus locations and the steps involved in the admission process.

Particular attention was paid to career opportunities available to KhNUIA graduates. These include positions as criminal investigators, inquiry officers, criminal investigation operatives, juvenile prevention inspectors, cybersecurity infrastructure support specialists, and specialists in financial administration and accounting units.
The meetings were facilitated by Yana Kovalchuk, a representative of the Human Resources Unit of the Lutsk District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Volyn region, and Mariana Denysiuk, an inspector of the relevant organisational support unit within the Human Resources Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police.

In total, more than 850 young people participated in the meetings. They gained practical insights into various aspects of police work and received information to help them make informed decisions about their future careers and prepare for admission to the University.
