An information day “Opportunities of the Horizon Europe program for the cybersecurity and information protection sector” was held online. The National Contact Points of the Horizon Europe program in the areas of “Civil Security for Society” (Cluster 3) and “Digitalization, Industry and Space” (Cluster 4), as well as the EEN-Ukraine network of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, joined in its organization. The NCP “Civil Security for Society” operates, in particular, on the basis of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and the Institute of Modeling Problems in Energy named after H. Ye. Pukhov of the NAS of Ukraine.

The event was opened by the First Deputy Head of the State Research Institute of Cybersecurity and Information Protection Technologies Semen Zhyla.
During the information day, participants learned about the opportunities of the Horizon Europe program, current areas of funding for scientific research and development, as well as the features of preparing international projects.

The Head of the National Competitiveness Program “Digitalization, Industry and Space” Vasyl Namoniuk spoke about working with the European Funding & Tenders portal, registering organizations and searching for relevant competitions. He paid special attention to areas related to digital technologies, industry and space, where competencies in the field of information protection, cryptography and artificial intelligence are in demand.
The Head of the National Competitiveness Program “Civil Security for Society” Oleksandr Chemerys presented relevant competitions for 2026, dedicated to cybersecurity, protection of critical infrastructure and countering digital threats.
The Head of the National Research Center "Civil Security for Society" from KhNUIA, Head of the Research laboratory on the problems of psychological support of law enforcement activities, Oleksii Serdiuk, spoke about the practical aspects of participation in international projects. He focused on the involvement of representatives of the law enforcement and security sectors as end-users in international consortia.

During the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers and discuss the prospects for further cooperation.
Participation in such events contributes to the development of international scientific cooperation and expands the opportunities of Ukrainian scientists and higher education institutions to join European research projects in the field of cybersecurity, information protection and modern technologies.
