Strength of spirit and team unity: KhNUIA veterans competed in the 2nd round of the Ukrainian sitting volleyball championship

Vinnytsia and Lutsk hosted participants of the 2nd round of the Ukrainian sitting volleyball championship among combatants and persons with disabilities as a result of the war of the 2026 season.

The competition was held on May 30-31 and brought together 12 teams from different parts of the country. Among them is the team “VRC Invasport – KhNUIA” (Vinnytsia), which includes veterans of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs Oleksandr Hovorukha and Yevhenii Savchenko.

During the tournament, the team “VRC Invasport – KhNUIA” demonstrated character, unity and sportsmanship, winning two victories. In two more matches, Vinnytsia team lost to its rivals in a tense and uncompromising fight.

Three more round robins await the championship participants, the results of which will determine the winners and prize-winners of the season.

For veterans, adaptive sports are not only a way to maintain physical fitness. It is an important component of recovery, rehabilitation and return to active life. Sitting volleyball helps to strengthen the spirit, find support from like-minded people, feel the support of the team and open up new opportunities for development and self-realization.
