Strength, endurance, character: KhNUIA identified the strongest in Hand-to-Hand Combat

Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs hosted the Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship, which brought together four teams of the ERI No. 1-4 cadets.

The competition traditionally began with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine. Those present observed a minute of silence in tribute to the defenders and peaceful citizens whose lives were taken by the war.

On behalf of Rector Valerii Sokurenko, Vice-Rector Serhii Bortnyk addressed the participants: «Hand-to-hand combat is an important component of the professional training of future law enforcement officers. Such competitions help to improve physical training, endurance, discipline and the ability to make quick decisions. I wish you fair fighting, bright matches and well-deserved victories».The fights seemed tense and spectacular: the cadets demonstrated not only physical strength, but also tactical thinking, speed of reaction and a real fighting character.

II place – the ERI No. 1

         III place – the ERI No. 4

In the various weight categories, the winners were decided in fierce competition, where every bout was a test of endurance and fortitude. The performances of the athletes deserve special mention, as they confidently demonstrated a high level of training and technical skill.

There was also a tense battle among the women – the participants showed confidence, character and excellent physical fitness, proving that hand-to-hand combat is a universal form of training for everyone.The winners and runners-up were awarded certificates, and the winning team received the Championship Cup.

The competition took place in an atmosphere of fair play, mutual respect and support – values that shape not only strong athletes but also future law enforcement officers.
