On May 19, the National Accessibility Week, initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, as well as the Advisor - Commissioner of the President of Ukraine on Accessibility, Tetiana LOMAKINA, started for the first time in Ukraine.

As part of the events, the First Deputy Head of the RMA, Oksana VZHESHNEVSKA, visited Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs in Kamianets-Podilskyi, where one of the flagship projects of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is being implemented - "Barrier-Free Driving School", initiated by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena ZELENSKA. During the visit, she met with the head of the automotive training department, Oleksandr MARUNCHAK, who introduced her to the training rooms, where students practice their primary driving skills on computer simulators, maximally adapted for people with disabilities, and told her how theoretical and practical classes are conducted.

“Barrier-free is primarily about dignity, about the inclusion of every person in the life of society. The University in Kamianets-Podilskyi has become a good example of how to implement a state strategy on the ground - professionally, with respect and results,” said Oksana VZHESHNEVSKA, summing up the results of the visit.
