KhNUIA held a training on compliance with anti-corruption legislation

The event, dedicated to studying the main provisions of anti-corruption legislation, rules of ethical behavior and compliance with anti-corruption standards, was organized for employees of territorial bodies, institutions, organizations and enterprises under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsia, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

The training was attended by the Rector of the university Valerii SOKURENKO, First Vice-Rector Viktor VASYLENKO, Vice-Rector Oleksandr MUZYCHUK, and Heads of structural divisions of the university. The moderator was the Commissioner for Anti-Corruption Activities of KhNUIA Yana MAZUR.

The event was opened by the Rector Valerii SOKURENKO, who noted that increasing the level of legal awareness of employees of state organizations remains one of the priority areas of the university's activity. The Head of the Department for the Prevention of Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anatolii FODCHUK addressed the participants. In his speech, he emphasized the relevance of further conducting such educational events that contribute to the formation of a culture of integrity among employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He also emphasized the importance of continuous training and the need to improve one's knowledge.

The training was attended by the Head of the Department of Educational Work and Educational Programs of the NACP Iryna TYMCHENKO, who introduced the participants to innovations in the field of electronic declaration, and also drew attention to the most common mistakes made by declarants.

The representative of Vinnytsia Department of the Internal Security Department of the National Police of Ukraine Oleh PLOTNYTSKYI shared practical aspects of bringing to administrative responsibility for committing offenses related to corruption, and spoke about real cases of violations of anti-corruption legislation.

The training was also attended by the coordinator of the NATO Integrity Education Program, Maryna KOHUT, who focused on supporting educational initiatives, and the expert of the NGO “Institutional Risk Foundation” Olena KARPOVA, who shared her experience working with whistleblowers.

During the training, the participants considered such issues as: classification of corruption offenses; conflict of interest: other restrictions provided for by the Law of Ukraine “On Prevention of Corruption”; criminal and administrative liability for violations of the anti-corruption legislation of Ukraine; mechanisms for creating conditions for reporting violations of the anti-corruption legislation.

The program included lectures by leading scientific and pedagogical workers of KhNUIA - Oleksandr PABAT, Kyrylo CHEREVKO, Olena SYNIAVSKA - and discussions of practical cases. The participants of the training asked questions to the speakers online and received detailed and professional answers.

Carrying out such measures is an important step in strengthening anti-corruption standards and increasing the level of integrity in the law enforcement system of Ukraine.
