The first training in their lives took place at all locations of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs for freshmen who chose the path of becoming police officers. Traditionally, they began with the introduction of the University Flag, the raising of the State Flag of Ukraine and the performance of the National Anthem. Those present honored the bright memory of all those who died defending Ukraine with a minute of silence.
Addressing the youth, the Rector, third-rank Police General Valerii SOKURENKO emphasized that the university has created all the necessary conditions for obtaining new knowledge and mastering the skills of their future profession. He noted that the camp training helps freshmen adapt to new conditions of study and living, to the rules of internal procedure, to a new team: “You are starting service in the National Police. I am grateful to your parents for raising you properly. You need to study quickly, persistently, and responsibly. I am convinced that there are no random people here, everyone really wanted to enter our higher education institution. We count on your conscious fulfillment of all instructions, instructions, requirements of the educational process, on your concern and responsibility. I wish you a successful completion of the camp. Remember that today you are laying the foundation of your future. Master knowledge diligently and with inspiration. Good luck in your studies and service.

The event was attended by the First Vice-Rector Viktor VASYLENKO, Vice-Rectors Serhii BORTNYK, Oleksandr MUZYCHUK, Heads of Educational and Research Institutes No. 1-4. They congratulated the young men and women on entering the higher education institution and the beginning of the camp, wished them perseverance in mastering knowledge and skills, urged them to be organized, adhere to discipline in order to overcome all the tests with dignity and prove that they were not mistaken in choosing their future profession.
For two weeks, freshmen will undergo training in drill, physical, tactical, fire and general legal training, as well as patriotic and cultural and educational activities. Their goal is to develop psychological resilience, readiness for service in law enforcement agencies, and preparation for taking the Oath of a Police Officer.
After the ceremonial assembly for freshmen, classes began according to the schedule.
