Representatives of scientific institutions and higher education institutions joined the information forum dedicated to the information days and brokerage events of the Horizon Europe program in the direction of "Civil Security for Society", held by the European Commission in the first half of 2025.
The event was opened by the First Vice-Rector of KhNUIA Viktor VASYLENKO and Vice-Rector Oleksandr MUZYCHUK. The Head of the International Cooperation Department Tetiana MATIUSHKOVA addressed the participants, who emphasized the importance of international scientific cooperation.
The National Contact Point for the direction of "Civil Security for Society" from KhNUIA was presented by Oleksii SERDIUK. He presented the results of the participation of Ukrainian NCPs of Cluster 3 in the information day for NCPs of the Horizon Europe program, which took place on June 10, 2025 in the city of Brussels (Belgium). His report was devoted to innovations and changes in the conditions of participation and the importance of involving representatives of security and law enforcement agencies as end users of research results.
From the Institute of Modeling Problems in Energy named after H. Ye. Pukhov of the NAS of Ukraine, the National Contact Point in the direction of “Civil Security for Society” was presented by Oleksandr CHEMERYS, who analyzed the results of his participation in the brokerage meetings held in Brussels on June 11-12, 2025. He shared information about the features of considering project proposals and finding partners for a research consortium at these meetings.
After the reports, a question and answer session was held, during which the president of the Centro Studi Quintum Scutum research center from Turin (Italy) Mattiello Edoardo invited interested Ukrainian researchers to join the preparation of applications in the direction of implementing the psychophysical biophilic rehabilitation protocol they developed into practical activities. He expressed his willingness to participate in the preparation of applications for humanitarian demining.
Expanding Ukraine's opportunities in the Horizon Europe program is an important step towards Ukraine's integration into the European Research Area.
