ІThe university rector Valerii Sokurenko addressed the lieutenants with a farewell speech: “Today is a special day for Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. We are seeing off young officers who have chosen a responsible mission to serve the law, the security of people, and the state in wartime. On behalf of the university administration and personally, I express my sincere gratitude to the state leadership, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, the heads of state authorities and local governments where our university is currently located, for their help and support, to the heads and employees of the Main Departments of the National Police in the regions, who are directly involved in the training of future police officers and help them acquire the necessary practical skills that will be useful in their future service.
Dear graduates! You have made a conscious choice to serve Ukraine in difficult times. Most of you will work in front-line and de-occupied territories, ensuring law and order, protecting citizens and documenting war crimes. Remember: a police officer is, first of all, people's trust, responsibility and justice. Be strong and indomitable, bring Victory closer every day with your service. And remember our Heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine - their example should be your guide. Glory to Ukraine!
The celebrations ended with a farewell ceremony with the University Flag, which is a symbol of honor, victory and devotion to the profession, after which they marched in a solemn march. During the event, there was a special moment: one of the cadets-standard bearers proposed to his beloved right during the ceremony, which added sincere emotions to the celebrations.
