Acting when Every Second Counts: KhNUIA Cadets Practise the M.A.R.C.H. Algorithm
НАВС

What should you do in the first minutes after an injury? How can you quickly stop massive bleeding, check breathing, and provide assistance until medics arrive? Cadets of Educational and Research Institute No. 2 practised the answers not only in theory but also hands-on during a practical joint class.

The class was conducted by instructors of the Department of Tactical and Special Training together with a resident physician of the surgical department of the Military Medical Clinical Center of the Central Region. The focus was on the M.A.R.C.H. algorithm and the sequence of first aid actions during operational and combat duty tasks.

Step by step, the cadets practised stopping massive bleeding with a tourniquet and other hemostatic agents, checking airway patency, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and using medical supplies from an individual first aid kit.

The practical format made it possible to check the correctness of each action immediately and to point out mistakes that, in a real situation, could affect the outcome of the assistance provided.

At the end of the class, the instructors and the physician discussed the results.
