The "Barrier-Free Driving School" of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs hosted another meeting with specialists from the "Veteran PRO" Veteran Support Center (an institution under the Kamianets-Podilskyi District Council). Representatives of the center visited to familiarize themselves with the driving school's training organization, enabling them to provide veterans and their families with up-to-date information on driver training opportunities.

Oleksandr Marunchak, Head of the Driving School’s Automotive Training Department, explained the educational process and the stages of training for future drivers—from mastering theory to completing the practical course. The guests also inspected the training equipment, including simulators used during instruction and a specially modified vehicle designed for practical training for individuals requiring adapted driving controls.

"It is important to us that the specialists who work directly with veterans fully understand the driving school's capabilities and can clearly explain them to their clients. This includes details on the training itself, admission requirements, available license categories, the specifics of practical training, and payment options. Having this information allows individuals to understand the entire process and determine the necessary steps before they even contact the driving school," noted Oleksandr Marunchak.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to addressing practical questions that arise for veterans and persons with disabilities when choosing and undergoing driver training. The specialists were interested in learning exactly who is eligible for the driving school's services, the conditions available for different categories of students, payment procedures, and the documents required for enrollment. They also discussed the practical driving course, which utilizes a vehicle modified to accommodate individual needs.

Anastasiia Yurchak, a specialist in veteran support, noted that the ability to obtain detailed information directly from the driving school is crucial for effectively advising veterans.

"This is not our first visit to the 'Barrier-Free Driving School,' as veterans' needs evolve and new practical questions arise. For a support specialist, it is important not only to know that such an option exists but to understand the entire process: eligibility, conditions, the structure of practical training, and payment arrangements. The information gathered during these meetings enables us to provide better advice to veterans and help them navigate the available opportunities," said Anastasiia Yurchak.

During the meeting, participants also discussed the specifics of tailoring practical training to individual needs. A modified vehicle and specialized simulators allow students to practice driving skills while accommodating the requirements of individuals with disabilities or injuries resulting from trauma.

KhNUIA "Barrier-Free Driving School" continues to collaborate with professionals working with veterans; such cooperation helps disseminate accurate information about training opportunities and enables people to quickly find answers to practical questions regarding acquiring driving skills.
