From November 23 to December 1, the delegation of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs visited the School of Officers of the Hellenic Police (Greece). The delegation consisted of Maryna Arapaki, a lecturer at the Department of Language Training, and higher education applicants of the University Yelyzaveta Vilska, Daria Martaloga, Viktoriia Reshetnyk, and Iryna Shcherbak.
The purpose of the visit was to familiarize themselves with international best practices in police training, develop professional skills necessary for the effective performance of their duties, and learn innovative approaches to ensuring public safety. Particular attention was paid to the analytical skills of future officers, the use of modern information technologies and the development of strategic solutions to combat organized crime, terrorism and other offenses.
An important part of the visit was the presentation of the University by the delegates. During the official meeting, the delegation made a presentation of the university, describing the education system, innovative methods of training, and international cooperation of the university. The presentation aroused interest among the Greek representatives, who highly appreciated the professional level of the university's teachers and cadets.
The program began with a presentation of the educational system of the School of Officers of the Hellenic Police, which was conducted by a competent officer. The delegation got acquainted with the educational process, the infrastructure of the institution, specialized premises and educational buildings.
After that, the delegation visited the National Security School, where the head of the institution presented the main tasks of this institution in the Greek national security system. The excursion included visits to classrooms, laboratories and practical training areas.
The final stage was a visit to the Special Police Training Department in Lagos, where the participants took part in a training session using a critical police situation simulator. Together with the cadets, lieutenants of the 4th Training Department, they were able to see modern methods of practicing real-time response to difficult situations.
This visit allowed the cadets and the instructor to gain valuable experience, learn about advanced law enforcement training methods and broaden their professional outlook for further work in the face of modern challenges.
