For the first time administrative staff who are responsible for gender policy of Donetsk Law Institute of MIA of Ukraine took part in the training “Gender Sensitive Leadership”.
It was mentioned that Donetsk Law Institute should be a space of equality. “Our task is ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men not only in inside the institute. Also, our mission is to educate a new generation of gender-sensitive youth.” – noted Rector, Police Colonel Serhiy Vitvitskyi.
The following issues were discussed during the training:
· Gender sensitivity in Leadership
· Common and different between the concepts of “sex” and “gender”
· Gender equality and instruments for the realization
· Gender stereotypes, sexism and instruments of prevention
· Feminities and their role in the activity of the nstitute
· Gender Sensitive Management Rules
“My mission is to realize a necessity of the gender component integration in all areas of the institute. Also, I would like the personnel of DLI to realize how act in achieving gender equality. Leadership is always about people cohesion around values. And one of the values should be gender equality, because equality means unity”. – noted Olha Svetlichna, Gender Assistant of Rector of DLI.
The training took place on basis of the office of the public organization “Mariupol Fund of Development”, which actively supports the Donetsk Law Institute of MIA of Ukraine in reaching the of equality and personal development.
