KhNUIA joined the RESONANT project webinar
НАВС

Representatives of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs took part in a scientific and practical webinar within the framework of the international research project RESONANT (“Interdisciplinary Research Cooperation on Foreign Intervention, Suppression and Information Manipulation in Diaspora Communities”), which is implemented with the support of the EU Framework Program “Horizon Europe”.

The project is aimed at identifying and analyzing information threats, as well as developing effective mechanisms to counter their impact on diaspora communities. The Ukrainian partners of the project are the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
During the webinar, the participants discussed key manifestations of threats in the information space – from censorship and online harassment to the phenomenon of self-censorship caused by external pressure. The causal relationship of these phenomena with the level of freedom of expression, democratic participation, social cohesion and the life of diaspora communities is also investigated.
Special attention is paid to the empirical results of the RESONANT project, which explicate the manifestations of cross-border authoritarian influence in EU countries and determine methodological approaches to strengthening the resilience of democratic societies.
