A binary lesson on the discipline "Psychological assistance in crisis situations" was held at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, conducted by teachers of the Department of Sociology and Psychology. Representatives of the veteran community "Brotherhood of Defenders: Podillia" - head Artem Ksheminskyi and secretary Viktor Tiupa - were invited to communicate with the students. The guests shared their own experience of mutual support of fellow soldiers after returning from the war.

"When we returned home, everyone had their own way of experiencing the war," said Artem Ksheminskyi. "We realized that only those who went through it themselves can truly support another. That's how the idea of creating an association where veterans help veterans was born."
Viktor Tiupa added: "Our approach is "equal to equal." We not only share experience, but also create a space of trust. When you see that you are understood without words, you have the strength to move on.”
During the meeting, the veterans spoke about the areas of their organization’s activities, including legal and psychological support, social support for veterans, and assistance to families of the dead, prisoners of war, and missing persons.
According to the teachers, such communication gave the students the opportunity to more deeply understand the importance of empathy, trust, and humanity in providing psychological assistance to those who have experienced combat.
