Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs hosted an information event dedicated to the competitions of the EU Horizon Europe Program for 2026 within the framework of the cluster “Civil Security for Society”. The event brought together experts and researchers to discuss current opportunities for the involvement of representatives of the scientific community of Ukraine.

The event was opened by the Vice-Rector of the University, Oleksandr Muzychuk, who emphasised the importance of involving academic staff in the preparation of project proposals. Tetiana Matiushkova, Head of the International Cooperation Department, outlined the department’s role in coordinating international cooperation and supporting the participation of university representatives in European research initiatives.

Nadiia Naumova, Senior Specialist at the “Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine” of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, highlighted success stories of Ukrainian organisations’ participation in the EU’s Horizon Europe Program.
Oleksii Serdiuk, Head of the Research Laboratory for Social and Psychological Support of the ERI No. 3, presented the National Contact Point for Civil Security. He reported on the results of international cooperation, participation in information days and brokerage events in Brussels (3–4 March 2026), and provided recommendations on preparing applications and forming international consortia.

Cybersecurity issues within Cluster 3 were addressed by Oleksandr Chemerys, a representative of the National Centre for Civil Security for Society of the G. E. Pukhov Institute for Modelling in Energy Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He focused on the priorities and opportunities for Ukrainian institutions to participate in relevant projects.
The event concluded with a discussion during which participants asked questions and exchanged ideas regarding further cooperation.
