KhNUIA at the anti-corruption training of the MIA: experience and new approaches

Kateryna UDOD, Commissioner for Anti-Corruption Activities of KhNUIA, joined the team of trainers at a two-day training on the basics of anti-corruption legislation, professional ethics and integrity for anti-corruption commissioners of MSC, as well as institutions, facilities and enterprises belonging to the sphere of management of the MIA, appointed to relevant positions in 2025. The event was held at Lviv State University of Internal Affairs. The organizers were the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the NATO Integrity Education Program and the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

State Secretary of the MIA Inna Yashchuk, Head of the NATO Integrity Education Program Joakim Frendin, Head of the Department of Corruption Prevention of the MIA Anatolii Fodchuk and Rector of LSUIA Dmytro Shvets joined the opening of the training.

Among the speakers were also Oleh Novikov, Head of the NACP Department, Marta Samchenko, Head of the 6th Department of the Department of Strategic Investigations in Lviv region of the DSI NPU, and Oksana Bronevytska, Head of the Directorate of the «Foundation for Institutional Development».

During the training, the participants worked out key topics: the application of anti-corruption legislation in practice, algorithms for checking counterparties, settlement and prevention of conflicts of interest, the role of anti-corruption commissioners in institutions and facilities of the MIA, as well as issues of professional ethics, integrity and the formation of a culture of transparency.
