KhNUIA: Training at Autumn School on Combating Human Trafficking

An autumn school on investigating crimes of human trafficking has begun in Lviv. The event is organised as part of a joint project between the OSCE Support Programme for Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and National Police of Ukraine, entitled "Strengthening the capacity of the National Police of Ukraine to investigate crimes related to human trafficking, including those committed using cyber technologies".

From Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, the following are participating in the school: Professor of the Department of Operational-Investigative Activities and Crime Solution of Educational and Research Institute No. 2 Oleksii DEREVIAHIN, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminalistics and Forensic Science, Educational and Research Institute No. 1, Anastasiia VUIMA, as well as cadets from Educational and Research Institutes Nos. 1, 2 and 4 – Anzhela STETSIUK, Maksym KHYLOBOKYI, Vladyslav VYSHNEVSKYI and Anna KHOMENKO

The aim of the school is to improve the professional competence of participants: to familiarise them with innovative approaches to the organisation of the educational process, the use of modern digital technologies, interactive methods and simulation exercises to improve the practical training of specialists.

Scientific and pedagogical staff will be able to improve teaching effectiveness, adapt the educational process to modern challenges, introduce effective methods of actively engaging students, and develop practical skills through modelling real-life situations and developing critical thinking.

Cadets will be familiarised with current trends and challenges in the field of combating human trafficking, new legislation, and will expand their knowledge of the forms, causes and consequences of this phenomenon. Particular attention will be paid to improving tactical skills during individual investigative (search) activities, as well as studying the national mechanism for cooperation in combating human trafficking, which will contribute to strengthening interagency coordination.
