Cadets of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs visited Vinnytsia District Police Department of the National Police of the MDNP in Vinnytsia region. During the visit, future law enforcement officers got acquainted with the organization of service in police units, learned more about the observance of human rights in police work and they saw how modern tools of control and forensic support function.

Olena Suvorova, a Head of the Human Rights Sector, told the cadets about the main areas of activity of the unit, its tasks and the importance of strict observance of human rights and freedoms during the performance of official duties.

Particular attention was paid to the operation of the Custody Records – system of a modern mechanism that ensures control over the observance of the rights of detained persons, recording of all procedural actions and transparency of police work.

An essential part of the visit was familiarization with the work of the forensic laboratory. The cadets were shown specialized equipment, told about the peculiarities of physical evidence research, conducting examinations and the importance of forensic research in solving crimes.

Such practical trips are an important component of professional training at KhNUIA, because they enable future policemen not only to deepen theoretical knowledge, but also to better understand the specifics of the service, the functions of units and the responsibility assumed by the law enforcement profession.
