KhNUIA: Professional Service, Career Development, and Future Opportunities in the Police Force
НАВС

Head of the Main Department of the National Police in Khmelnytskyi Region Ivan Ishchenko held a meeting with cadets of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs (KhNUIA). The meeting provided future law enforcement officers with an opportunity to gain insights into the specifics of police service, the functioning of various police units, and prospects for professional development within the National Police of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the cadets raised questions regarding the initial period of service after graduation, the specifics of investigative and operational activities, as well as the performance of police duties under the conditions of martial law.

Particular attention was devoted to the activities of police officers in frontline areas. Ivan Ishchenko shared his professional experience, highlighted the challenges encountered during service, emphasized the importance of making timely and well-considered decisions, and underlined the significance of coordinated teamwork in ensuring effective police operations.

The meeting also addressed issues related to the adaptation of young police officers at the beginning of their professional careers. Following graduation, newly appointed officers require the support of experienced colleagues and supervisors, opportunities to acquire practical skills, and guidance in determining their professional specialization. This stage plays an important role in establishing the foundation for their further professional growth and career development.

Such meetings contribute to strengthening the practical orientation of cadets’ training, enabling them to communicate directly with experienced representatives of law enforcement agencies, receive professional advice, and gain a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and challenges associated with future service in the National Police of Ukraine.
