A working meeting of the institution's management with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Ukraine was held at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. The event was attended by the university's Rector Valerii Sokurenko, First Vice-Rector Viktor Vasylenko, Head of the International Cooperation Department Tetiana Matiushkova, as well as representatives of the ICRC: advisor to the department for interaction with law enforcement and security agencies Dmytro Dvornyk, legal advisor to the department for international humanitarian law Maria Olshanska, and advisor to the department for interaction with the armed forces and security forces Pavlo Nurzhynskyi.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of many years of cooperation and identified promising directions for its further development. The Rector of the university, Valerii Sokurenko, expressed gratitude to the representatives of the ICRC for their consistent support of KhNUIA, assistance in strengthening its institutional capacity and the development of police education in wartime conditions.

First Vice-Rector Viktor Vasylenko thanked international partners for their assistance in creating a specialized audience on international humanitarian law and raised the issue of further support in the arrangement of training grounds for practicing first aid skills.

The representatives of the ICRC presented the current areas of the organization's activity and confirmed their readiness to continue supporting KhNUIA through the implementation of educational and scientific initiatives, as well as projects aimed at developing the university's material and technical base.

The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the issues of international humanitarian law, emphasizing its importance for high-quality documentation and investigation of war crimes.
