KhNUIA: Expanding the horizons of cooperation in interdisciplinary research

The Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology of the ERI No. 1, Doctor of Law, Professor Yurii Orlov, as an invited speaker, took part in the interdisciplinary scientific and practical conference ‘Modern Problems of Development of the Aerospace Industry of Ukraine: Engineering, Business, Law’. The event was organised by Kharkiv National Aerospace University ‘Kharkiv Aviation Institute’. During the meeting, the participants discussed the current challenges faced by the engineering, legal and business components of the aerospace industry in Ukraine in the context of the war.

Yurii Orlov delivered a presentation on the topic ‘Strategic Principles of Combating Frontline Crime in the Prospect of Peace in Ukraine’. He highlighted the problem of Ukrainian frontlines, criminal activity that is reproduced in connection with their conflict interaction, presented an information model of frontline crime in the context of such criminal offences as treason, collaboration, aiding the aggressor state, obstructing the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, propaganda of the communist regime, etc. Special attention was paid to the peculiarities of the state, problems of determining and counteracting industrial espionage, sabotage that undermine the potential of the aerospace industry of Ukraine.

The conference became a platform for synergy of approaches and developments developed within the Criminology School of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and the scientific schools of Kharkiv National Aerospace University ‘Kharkiv Aviation Institute’ to find ways to strengthen the intellectual potential of Ukraine and enhance its capabilities to counter armed aggression.
