Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs (KhNUIA) continues its efforts to support war veterans through adaptive sports training. Another strength and conditioning session was conducted by Ihor Boiko, Lecturer at the Department of Special Physical Training. The session was attended by war veteran and former Armed Forces of Ukraine officer Andrii Alieksieiev.

The programme included exercises aimed at developing strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, and endurance. The intensity of the training was adapted to the veteran’s physical capabilities and individual needs.
Andrii Alieksieiev, whose call sign is “Myslyvets” (“Hunter”), has defended Ukraine in some of the most challenging areas since 2014. He spent eight months in captivity. After his release, he returned to service and continued performing combat missions as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for another four years. He completed his military service after sustaining an injury, holding the rank of lieutenant.

Today, Andrii heads the Kamianets-Podilskyi Professional Organization of War Veterans and Combatants and the NGO “Brothers in Arms of Kamianets Region.” Through his public activities, he supports fellow veterans and participates in veteran-focused initiatives.
Adaptive sports training helps veterans maintain physical fitness, restore mobility, and return to an active lifestyle. KhNUIA specialists continue working with veterans, selecting exercises and training loads according to their individual abilities and needs.
