Ihor Ostrovskyi, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Special Physical Training of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, conducted boxing training for Andrii Bairak, a combatant of the 42nd Mechanized Brigade who was wounded during combat operations for the city of Toretsk.

The training took place within the framework of the ‘Veteran Sports’ programme, which aims to support physical activity, psychological rehabilitation and social adaptation of the defenders of Ukraine.

During the training, Ihor Ostrovskyi demonstrated a set of exercises for developing coordination, strength and endurance, as well as techniques for safely performing boxing elements. Particular attention was paid to recovering mobility, confidence in own abilities and forming positive motivation for sports.

For his courage and dedication during the defence of Toretsk, Andrii Bairak was awarded the medal ‘For the Defense of Toretsk’.
