“Coffee with a Veteran”: Representatives of the OSUIA Joined an Open Dialogue
НАВС

This time, the meeting was attended by Vitalii Kim, Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine; Denys Uliutin, Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine; and Oleksii Nikitenko, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

In an open-mic format, veterans asked questions and directly voiced their needs. They discussed housing, government and municipal services, the development of veteran sports, access to information, support options, and the further integration of veterans into civilian life.

They specifically emphasized the importance of communication between the government, local authorities, the veteran community, and civil society organizations.

The main message of the meeting is simple: a veteran is not just a recipient of services. Their experience, professional knowledge, and voice should serve as a vital foundation for shaping and improving veteran policy.

Representatives from Odesa State University of Internal Affairs – veterans of the russian-ukrainian war and the rector’s assistants, Serhii Kozachenko and Oleksii Ishchuk – also took part in the event.

For the OSUIA, such meetings are an opportunity not only to represent the interests of veterans within the university community but also to be part of the broader process of shaping a modern system of veteran policy.
