As part of the training program for first-year OSUIA students, the Department of Administrative and Legal Disciplines organized a lecture on “The French Police.”

The guest speaker was Jean-Marc Krebs, Head of the EUAM`s Unit for Liberated and Adjacent Territories.

The speaker talked about the main police units in France: The National Police and the Gendarmerie, outlining their jurisdiction, areas of responsibility, and working methods. Particular attention was paid to the role of the Gendarmerie and the mechanisms of interaction between different police structures.

Participants also learned about the current challenges facing French law enforcement agencies and innovative approaches to maintaining public order. The meeting ended with a lively discussion comparing the French experience with the Ukrainian reality.

The event was conducted in English, with translation provided by senior lecturer, PhD, Associate Professor Anastasiia Bokshorn.
