Previously, representatives of the institute actively participated in educational events organized by the National Bank of Ukraine with the support of the NGO Credo bank Foundation, taking part in two video competitions: ‘Unboxing Crime’, dedicated to fraud during online purchases, and ‘True Crime’ – on payment fraud.
In the ‘True Crime’ competition, the university was represented by a team of fourth-year students majoring in D1 ‘Accounting and Taxation,’ consisting of Polina Diakova, Victoria Bachynska, Dmytro Stetsiuk, Diana Tarnavska, and Andrii Khomiak. The team was led by Polina Diakova, a participant of the grant-funded educational project ‘Financial Patrol.’ The ideas and practical solutions developed within this project formed the basis of the competition video.
The competition format involved creating short TikTok-style videos in which participants had to creatively and accessibly demonstrate the risks of payment fraud, its possible consequences, and suggest effective ways to protect oneself when using payment services.
The video stood out for its content, original approach and practical focus. It clearly highlights common financial fraud schemes and provides recommendations for safe behavior when making online payments.
At the end of the competition, the team received winner's diplomas from the National Bank of Ukraine, confirming their high level of training, financial literacy and active civic position.
Scientific and methodological support was provided by representatives of the Department of Social and Economic Disciplines – Head Iryna Sievidova and Associate Professor Serhii Rudenko, who provided advisory support and facilitated the implementation of the participants' creative ideas.
Participation and victory in such events are an important factor in the formation of practical competencies, the development of financial and cyber security culture, and the promotion of educational initiatives among young people.
