The cadets and staff of the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs visited the Museum of Genocides and joined the event to commemorate the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 and the mass artificial famines of 1921-1923 and 1946-1947.

At the event, higher education applicants of the university had the opportunity to meet Natalia Dziubenko-Mace, a writer, publicist, and wife of James Mace, an American historian and researcher of the Holodomor in Ukraine. 

In the museum hall, Natalia Dziubenko-Mace recited memories of the research activities of the famous historian and poetry.

At 04:00 pm, those present at the event honored the memory of the Holodomor victims with a minute of silence and joined the “Light a Candle of Memory” campaign. 

“On this day, let's put a lighted candle on the windowsill to remember the millions of people who were shot and died of starvation. Many of them did not have time to leave their direct descendants on this earth - sons and daughters. Burning in our windows, the candlelight will be a sign that they are not forgotten, that they have descendants who remember them” (James Mace).
