LvSUIA first-year cadets took the Oath and received police badges

At Lviv State University of Internal Affairs more than three and a half hundred of first-year cadets from 19 regions of the country took the Oath of the National Police office. The ceremony took place at the educational and training unit «Vereshchytsya» and was conducted in several stages - separately with each faculty.

To the sounds of the march, the flag-bearing group raised the flag of the University.

After that, the cadets solemnly swore to serve faithfully the Ukrainian people, abide by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, implement them, respect and protect human rights and freedoms, the honor of the state, bear the high rank of a police officer with dignity and perform their official duties in good faith.

Rector of the University Roman Blahuta, First Vice-Rector of the University Taras Sozanskyy, Deans of the faculties that train specialists for National Police units, as well as the guests of honor – Head of the Patrol Police Department in Lviv region Roman Pylypenko, Deputy Head of the Department for Combating Cybercrime in Lviv region Illya Tohayev, Head of the Internal Security Department in Lviv region Roman Turchak, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Lviv Region Andriy Kotsur, Deputy Head of the Investigation Department of the Directorate General of National Police in Lviv Region Andriy Kumechko and Deputy Head of the Department of Preventive Activities of the Directorate General of National Police in the Lviv Region Roman Hrankivskyy granted special police badges to the first-year cadets.

The participants observed a minute of silence in tribute to those who lost their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. The ceremony was followed by laying flowers at the memorial to fallen soldiers of the patrol police battalion for special purposes «Lviv».

Rector of LvSUIA Roman Blahuta read greetings to the first-year cadets from the board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and addressed to the cadets.

«Taking the Oath marks the beginning of a new stage - maturity and responsibility to the state, people, relatives and friends, said Roman Blahuta. - By swearing allegiance to the Ukrainian people, you have made high commitments and become directly involved in the fate of your country. In such a difficult time for our state, you consciously made a choice and decided to connect your destiny with the profession of law enforcement officer».

Roman Blahuta urged the first-year cadets to study honestly and be disciplined: «In order to become better, you need to constantly work on yourself. Highly educated people are the most valuable treasure of every country. After all, they form the elite of the state, and are to lead an independent European Ukraine into the future. So accumulate knowledge and skills, temper your character and consciousness. Use training time as effectively as possible to acquire the best traits - courage, endurance, self-restraint».

The Rector of the University expressed gratitude to parents of the cadets, who, due to quarantine restrictions, could not share the joy of the holiday with their children this year: «Parents are the ones who sowed the seeds of patriotism in yourselves. And I'm grateful to them for that».

The Head of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Vereshchytsya and the Chapel of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the educational and training unit «Vereshchytsya» father Ivan Revutskyy blessed the cadets for the easy and fortunate service.

We wish the first-year cadets to always be faithful to the Oath, to bear the title of the cadet of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs - the future defender of law and justice! We wish you inspiration and persistence, strength and desire to succeed in chosen career!
