Students of Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs joined the patriotic event ‘We honour, we remember’ dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine. The event was dedicated to Vitalii Hrytsaienko, a graduate of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, deputy commander of the Azov Regiment, who was killed in Mariupol while performing a combat mission. He was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine and the Order of the Golden Star for his personal courage and heroism in defending Ukraine's state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for his loyalty to the military oath.

The wife of the Hero of Ukraine, Victoria, met with the youth. She spoke about her husband, who stood faithfully and bravely in defence of our country. The students watched a film and a book in memory of the Azov defenders.

The cadets laid flowers at the memorial plaque at the school where the soldier studied and at the Vitalii Hrytsaienko lyceum with enhanced military and physical training.

The participants of the event planted fir trees to remind of the Hero of Ukraine's feat.
